Wellin5’s mission to support mental health on Bell Let’s Talk day

This past year has been especially hard for all of us, as we dealt with the isolation that came with the global pandemic. That’s why dedicating days for mental health awareness are important now more than ever. They give us a sense of unity, a shared understanding, and bring awareness to this important topic. Bell Let’s Talk day is special for anyone who wants to get involved in the conversation surrounding mental health. Pandemic aside, here in Canada, 1 in 5 people will struggle with their mental health in any given year. So, that means it’s likely you or someone you know has struggled at one point in their lives. Mental health is a topic that’s close to home for virtually everyone.

Let’s talk about #BellLet’sTalk

Since the launch of Bell Let’s Talk in 2010, they’ve partnered with over 1,100 organizations to support mental health throughout Canada. Places like universities, community centres, hospitals, and research organizations are better equipped to provide mental health services and support to their communities. Every year, Bell Let’s Talk anchors us in the importance of discussing mental health, and creates the space to have the open and honest conversations that are so necessary to breaking stigma. Since 2018, Wellin5 has been a part of that conversation.

Wellin5’s mission to improve mental health

Since the beginning, our mission has been to better the Canadian mental health landscape by giving people access to exceptional mental health professionals and empowering them to confidently feel better. And we live that mission with accessibility in mind — using technology to bring online video counselling to those in need, at an affordable price, wherever they feel most comfortable. Because we believe that mental wellness is the key to living a healthy and successful life.

We especially saw the need for support rise at the beginning of 2020 due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. It was a major world event that no one could predict, and it affected us all. We know loneliness and isolation have serious effects on mental health. So as everything shut down worldwide, virtual counselling became integral in reaching clients who needed it the most. Those looking for guidance. Those who need support treating and managing mental illness.Or, those just looking for someone to talk to. People in all of these situations have turned to Wellin5’s team of counsellors.

At Wellin5, we know mental health isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s why we pair people with highly qualified counsellors who meet their unique needs. Counsellors like Amelia, who always take a people-first approach to their work. If you or someone you know is looking for counselling support, Wellin5’s team of passionate mental health professionals are here to help.
